Ellen Dorsey is Executive Director of the Wallace Global Fund, a private foundation focused on progressive social change. The Fund is recognized for creative philanthropic strategies and mission-related investing, including its early support for the global fossil fuel divestment movement. Dorsey was awarded the 2016 inaugural Nelson Mandela - Graca Machel Brave Philanthropy Award for launching Divest-Invest Philanthropy. 

Dorsey previously directed the Rachel Carson Institute, the Human Rights and Environment program at Amnesty International, and was senior environmental program officer in the Heinz Endowments.  She is on the board of Greenpeace USA and served as chair of the board of Amnesty International USA.

Dorsey holds a doctorate in political science, held a Fulbright Research Fellowship in South Africa, and has written extensively on effective strategies of NGOs. Dorsey is co-author of New Rights Advocacy, Georgetown University Press.
